Job Description
Overview of Position
A Product Manager (Product Specialist) within our PCBA division and is an expert on a specific product or product lines within Technica, responsible for understanding customer needs, market trends, and ensuring the product's success throughout its lifecycle by collaborating with our sales teams, equipment service team and our supply partner to optimize features, pricing, and overall market positioning; The PM often conducts market research, provides product training to sales teams, and gathers customer feedback to drive product improvements and customer satisfaction with our supply partners.
Key responsibilities of a product manager:
· Deep product knowledge:
Thoroughly understanding all aspects of the product, including features, benefits, technical specifications, and applications related to SPI, AOI, Placement and Jetting/dispensing.
· Market analysis:
Conducting market research to identify competitor products, market trends, and potential customer needs.
· Sales support:
Educating sales teams on product features and benefits, providing sales materials, and assisting with customer presentations. Travel to customer location with Sales team.
· Customer feedback collection:
Gathering feedback from customers to identify areas for product improvement and relaying that information to our supply partners.
· New Product launch strategy: (new product is defined as new product/product line that Technica takes on responsibility or new product from existing supply partner)
· Collaborating with supply partners marketing teams to develop launch plans and promotional materials highlighting product benefits.
· Competitive analysis:
Monitoring competitor products and identifying opportunities to differentiate the company's product.
· Customer training:
Conducting product demonstrations and training sessions for customers and internal staff.
· Pricing strategy development:
Assisting management in its negotiating with distribution supply partners in determining optimal product cost from supplier and pricing based on market conditions and competitor analysis.
· Industry expertise:
Staying updated on industry trends and regulations impacting the product category.
Required skills for a product specialist:
· Technical knowledge:
Strong understanding of the product's technical aspects and functionality.
· Communication skills:
Excellent ability to explain complex product features to diverse audiences, including customers and internal teams.
· Analytical skills:
Capability to interpret market data and customer feedback to identify trends and opportunities with current suppliers or new suppliers.
· Customer service focus:
Commitment to providing excellent customer support and resolving customer inquiries related to the product.
· Presentation skills:
Confidence in presenting product information to potential customers and stakeholders.
· Collaboration skills:
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams across marketing, sales, and product development.
Preferred Education: (but not required to apply)
· Bachelor Degree in business, marketing, engineering or computer science
· Min 2 years working experience
