EMC PURCHASES ARLON ELECTRONIC MATERIALS

December 29, 2020

Technica is pleased to announce that the acquisition of Arlon Electronic Materials by Elite Materials Company, Ltd., (EMC) completed on December 23, 2020. This acquisition is EMC’s sixth worldwide laminate manufacturing location, and the first manufacturing operation in North America. The acquisition provides EMC with an expanded range of products and the opportunity to penetrate additional markets.

In acquiring Arlon, EMC has gained a manufacturing footprint in the United States, a key component of EMC’s overall business strategy for the North American market. Coupled with EMC’s current distribution model established through Technica USA, this acquisition addresses the requirements of providing customers with a dependable supply chain model in a quick-turn environment. Additionally, it will offer customers a North American manufacturing operation with an IPC validated laboratory capable of providing full laminate and prepreg testing.

EMC has introduced a breadth of new products over the last couple of years that have caused many OEM’s to recommend these products to fabricators that manufacture their printed circuit boards, such as EM890, EM891 EM528 and EM370Z, which includes the alternative glass and copper types offered by EMC. While the demands for these products will continue to be fulfilled through our current distribution model, having manufacturing capabilities state side will allow us to be in a better position to respond to the supply demands of our customers.

We thank you for your continued support and we look forward to maximizing the combined resources from Technica, Arlon and EMC in the weeks ahead to better serve our loyal customers.
